Use a strap to regulate the fork-Hight
(this is not "after the book) |

Loosen and unscrew the right side fork cap.
Remeber to loosen the Socket Bolt / Upper fork tube pinch bolts |

Pry the dust seal out of the slider |

and remove the stopping ring above the oil seal. Have somthing ready to catch the oil.... | |

Pull hard on the fork tube |
|
using quick in and out strokes | |

-and itīs off |

Use a thin schrewdriver to open |
|
the slider bushing slot and slide it off the fork tube | |

Take off the the rings and seals
Hold on to the spring collar and unscrew the lock nut (Item 19 / picture 1) until the spring seat (Item 6 / picture 1) can be slid out.
Withdraw the forkspring and reinstall the new progressive spring.
Install the new dustseal, backuprings and bushings in correct order coated with fork oil.

I used the old dust seal as a construction |

to push the oil seal and dust seal into the fork tube. | |

Snap the old dust seal on to the slider and use a plastic hammer (carefully) |

I use a strong magnet to catch and lift the fork damper |

and install the lock nut and spring seat. | |

Loosen and unscrew the left side fork cap.
Remeber to loosen the Upper fork tube pinch bolts:

Install the Honda special 44mm locknut wrench tool |
|
onto the inner fork bolt and slowly unschrew the bolt.
There is a small spring tension so press the tool down when you unscrew the bolt.

Now its loose... |

Follow same procedures as right fork leg for changing seals and bushings. | 7) to 14) |

Regulate the hight with the strap |

to reach the rod to assambly.

Install the fork caps, lower the fork legs with the strap and tighten |

to torque specifications, 34NM = 25 ft.lb. Tighten the upper fork tube pinch bolts to
55NM = 40,5ft.lb | |

I bouht a small suction pump that I use to get the right fork oil level.
Remember: the fork must be fully compressed when measuring the fluid level. |

I make a mark on the suction pump hose e.t. 5.6" and put the hose into the fork tube until the mark are at the top of the fork tube and suck up superfluous oil.
