There seems to be a lot of inconsistency with Valkyrie model numbers. The basic model number is on the lower left corner of the VIN data plate. This will typically be something like “GL1500CT”. An expanded number is sometimes written on the price tag by the dealer and it may show up in the paperwork that accompanies the bike during purchase.   The inconsistency in the expanded numbers may be due to lack of attention on the dealers part when they write the numbers down, or some of them may have been transposed when submitted for this article. At any rate, below is a breakdown of the Valkyrie model numbers as best I can decipher. It should be noted that the figures in the model number are not always in the order shown and sometimes, the “C” is omitted in the case of the Tourers.
