How Many Valkyries Have been Built? OK, this is really a stretch. I’ve attempted to answer the question by rounding-up the highest serial number for each variant and then summing the totals for all variants. This of course, assumes that all serial numbers within a variant are sequential (which at this time I have no reason to believe they aren’t). Obviously, this is by no means high science and serves only to give a rough approximation of the total number of Valkyries produced.         Regarding the Rune totals, the numbers I have are in conflict with the numbers originally cited by Honda (1,500 total purported to be produced with 15 alloted for Australia). But again, my numbers are based on serial numbers actually observed and I stand by them as the best guess until something official comes along.     The first 70 Valkyries were made on April 11, 1996 and used the first 70 serial numbers. 69 were black and chrome and 1 was yellow and black. (The “bumblebee” was produced for American Motorcyclist Magazine’s Managing Editor, Bill Wood for use as a long-term loaner.
